According to the British Snoring & Sleep Apnoea Association, 41.5 per cent of the UK adult population snore, which includes twice as many men as women. The most obvious effect of snoring is tiredness the next day. Persistent night snoring results in sleep deprivation which may cause stress, high blood pressure and even risk diabetes.

As you fall asleep, the tissues and muscles in the tongue and throat relax, allowing the tongue to drop into the airway and narrowing the space for air. Air passing through the narrowed airway moves faster, causing the tissues to vibrate against each other creating a rattling or snoring sound.

Snoring is made worse by drinking alcohol, being overweight and by smoking.

Our team cannot cure snoring but we can help to reduce it significantly with a Sleepwell. This is a Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD) which holds the lower jaw and tongue forward so increasing the space in the airway.

Our initial consultation is free and the Sleepwell appliance fee is £325.
